Frequently Asked Questions Question: Do the ratings come on sheets or are they cut out? Answer: The ratings come in perforated sheets which are bound in booklet form. Question: Do the ratings come with names printed on them? Answer: Yes. Question: Can any new cards be created for the game? Answer: Eventually, but this software is not yet available for sale. Question: Are all players rated? Answer: Those with more than 30 at bats or 15 innings pitched, or pitchers who had 3 or more starts are all rated. A few other players who do not meet this criteria are also included. Question: After this year, when will seasons typically be available? Answer: We plan on making each season available by February the following year. Question: Are you planning on releasing any "retro" seasons? Answer: Yes! The first retro season (1960) was made available on 9/2/2007. Order it below! Question: What is the difference between the retro seasons and the new seasons? Answer: Newer seasons cost more to produce because there are many more teams now than there were during the 60's and 70's. The 2005 and 2006 seasons were the first sets to be produced, and (currently) contain a little less data on the players than future releases (including the retro seasons). For example, in 2005 and 2006, only one "Matchup" column was placed on a pitcher, whereas all other seasons will have two (one for use vs. right-handed batters, the other for use vs. left-handed batters). Batters did not have a "Count" column in the 2005 and 2006 seasons, whereas all future releases (including retro seasons) will have this feature. Finally, the 2005 and 2006 pitchers were not printed with optional "Pitch Count" fatigue data. Question: Will you be re-releasing the 2005 and 2006 seasons in the updated format? Answer: Maybe down the road, but we don't plan on tinkering with them any time soon. Question: Are larger-size ballpark charts available? Answer: The retro releases have both 8.5" x 11" (regular) and 11" x 17" (tabloid) ballpark charts available in full color as an add-on. All other seasons include black-and-white versions of the same charts. The 8.5" x 11" color charts are printed on card stock, while the tabloid sized charts are printed on paper. Question: Are the ballpark charts included if I just want to purchase the season sheets, or must I also purchase a game? Answer: The black-and-white ballpark charts are included with BOTH season sheet and game purchases for the season you order. Question: I purchased a 2005 (or 2006) game and want to purchase the 1960 season. Do I need to purchase a new game in order to update my rules? Answer: No! There really haven't been any big changes in the rules...just the additions listed above. You can also print out an updated game manual any time you want (updated portions of the manual are in red). The game parts and other accessories have not changed.
