The 1970 season was the first following the AFL-NFL merger, and was culminated by Jim O'Brien's game-winning kick in the final moments of what is now called Super Bowl III.

Notable performances included

bulletSan Francisco's John Brodie, who led the league in several passing categories
bulletthe 71 receptions of Chicago's Dick Gordon and teammate Cecil Turner's 32.7 yard KO return average (along with 4 TDs)
bulletMinnesota's defense yielded just 143 points (in 14 games), led by the Purple People Eaters of Carl Eller, Jim Marshall, Gary Larsen and Alan Page.

1970 is the first of our Retro seasons to be released, and is available in both computer and board game formats. Other seasons will be released, in order of year, in the future.
